KOLLOKIUM Projekt 01 - Variant "H"
KOLLOKIUM Projekt 01 - Variant "H"
Launching September 16, 2026 at 15:00 CET / 9:00 AM Eastern / 6:00 AM Pacific.
Every end is a new beginning. After nearly three years since kollokium’s freshman creation – Projekt 01 – entered the scene, the time has come to bid farewell to the design that immediately set this three-man apart from the rest. That’s not to say that Projekt 01 is ending, but rather, the end of its first chapter.
But before the page is turned on this singular and unmistakable design, kollokium is releasing one last iteration that culminates three years of tweaking the design and refining the execution. Reminiscent of the very first trio of Projekt 01 references with black dials, Projekt 01 Variant “H” features the more abstract dial design of Variant “F” with the most and brightest lume ever on a dial.
kollokium is certainly making the last one count. Projekt 01 Variant “H” is closing the circle that began in 2023 with the Projekt 01 Friends & Family edition in the most electrifying way. A return to the source, but with three years worth of introspection and evolution to really mark the milestone. And, to really set things off with fireworks, more lume on the dial than anything that has come before.
Projekt 01 Variant “H” celebrates everything that has made kollokium’s model so emblematic from the start but with added flair. The unmistakably "neubrutalist" design language, the die-cast steel case with box sapphire crystal and the highly graphical dial full of LichtblockTM pins all come together for a final, matured rendition of alternative watch design.
The 40mm case is made from die-cast steel, with little finishing or embellishment, and its texture is neither matte nor frosted. All edges on the case are slightly rounded off, a natural smoothness resulting from the die-casting process.
Inside a closed case-back, the Projekt 01 - Variant "H" is powered by a Swiss-made, automatic movement, La Joux-Perret's G101, with a power reserve of 68 hours.
Variant "H" is a limited edition of 399 pieces.

DIAL
It’s no surprise that after nearly three years since it entered the scene, Projekt 01 has
become somewhat synonymous with lume. While this was never the objective, Projekt 01
has paved the way for luminescent pigments to be used much more creatively than as mere
functional dial elements. 2025 saw the advent of LichtblockTM, kollokium’s proprietary
luminescent ceramic-resin hybrid material. This development allows lume to take on a
much more prominent role and, given the sheer amount of luminescent pigments found
across the hundreds of individually hand-applied cylindrical pins, a level of glow that’s
frankly unheard of.
Typically, one gramme of Super-LumiNova powder can be used to create between 200 and
300 traditional dials with the usual 12 pad-printed hour markers. In Projekt 01 Variant H, 2
grammes of Super-LumiNova are required for each dial. That’s not to say that the dial will
glow 500x brighter than a traditional dial, but the difference is hard to miss. Across the 488
pin elements in 6 different diameters and heights as well as the hour and minute hands with
LichtblockTM elements, there’s the equivalent amount of lume as nearly 500 traditional pad-
printed dials with luminescent markers.
After the subtle but enticing violet glow of Variant “F” that introduced LichtblockTM last year,
Variants “H” use one of the brightest-glowing Swiss Super-LumiNova pigments, BGW9,
glowing with a bright cyan blue tone for hours. As far as scotopic vision is concerned. blue
light is much more easily perceptible to the human eye under low light conditions, making
the BGW9 pigment an optimal choice.
Like all kollokium Projekts and variants, there’s a certain kind of industrial, brutalist
craftsmanship. Each dial is painstakingly put together, pin by pin, in an unforgiving process
that lasts approximately eight hours, where one faulty pin or misalignment means having to
chuck away the dial and start all over again.
All this light, chromatics and volume can be appreciated through the panoramic sapphire
glass box, which takes up nearly half of the case’s height. It’s worth noting that Variant “H”
and its direct predecessor Variant “F” feature slightly different cases and crystals from the
other Projekt 01 Variants with metal pins. To compensate the different height of the
LichtblockTM hands without making the crystal and case disproportionate, the case was
reengineered to have the movement sit slightly lower, offsetting the slight height increase
of the crystal.
CASE
Projekt 01’s case is crafted like literally no other watch out there. Forged from 316L stainless steel, the case is not made using typical milling and machining processes at all, though the process is in fact industrial and rather old-school: die casting steel. Why? Well, because they said it couldn’t (and shouldn’t) be done. And because the desired result was one where the case would boast practically no finishing or embellishment, and instead feature a
uniform, industrial heavy duty steel tool-like appearance with a specific texture that can only be produced when injecting molten steel into a cast form. It’s neither matte nor frosted, but somewhere in between. And as rough as it looks, it’s unexpectedly soft to the touch. It’s simply die-cast steel in all its industrial glory; an antithesis to the neatly polished and delicately satin-brushed finishes you’d find in just about every other watch.
The two-part case construction consists of a caseback element that takes on a sort of barrel shape paired with lugs inspired by cruciform screwdrivers, which appear as if they were chiseled out to keep only what’s structurally integral. The case middle, within which the movement is protected in a steel container, is fixed on top of this base. A cylinder, it contains the only hint of the project or model name. Part of the steel cast, the left band of the case features the project’s full internal dossier name: K,P-n°01. A triangular valve-shaped crown completes the industrial look and feel of the Projekt 01.
The strap also plays a major role in making the Projekt–01 so effortless to wear. Inspired by outdoor gear (and a certain connected watch), it’s been developed by kollokium as the perfect finishing touch. With just the right amount of elasticity to keep it securely on the wrist without getting too tight and the kind of breathability that makes it quick to dry, It’s a utilitarian’s dream. It consists of a single strap with a hook fastening system and stitched loops to easily adjust the size on the go.
For Projekt 01 Variant “H”, the watch is delivered on a creamy-white strap to match the LichtblockTM pins (without the glow of course) and provide maximum contrast. And for those who prefer to keep things understated, a second strap in black is offered.
